Welcome to the May 2022 issue of the UHN Research & Innovation Cores Newsletter. In this edition, we continue our focus on our cutting edge research core facilities and initiatives at UHN Research.

Read on to learn about the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility, which enables quantitative analytical investigations into molecular structures; The KITE Research Institute’s Challenging Environment Assessment Laboratory (CEAL), which contains advanced simulation labs for research focused on improving the lives of people living with the effects of disability, illness and aging; and Techna’s Transformatics team, which is powering the integration of technology into the clinical environment.

  • Jose Mangles has been promoted to Director of Operations, UHN Research, and Innovation Cores.

Announcement

We would like to announce three promotions within the UHN Research and Innovation Cores.

Tracey Lui has been promoted to Director, Translational Research and Innovation, overseeing the Joint Department of Medical Imaging and the Laboratory Medicine Program Research Office.

Julia Publicover has been promoted to Director, Translational Research and Innovation, who will continue to lead the QIPCM imaging core facility and will be assuming new responsibilities in leading the transformation of CanProbe, a joint venture start-up that develops, manufactures and distributes radiopharmaceuticals.

Jose Mangles has been promoted to Director of Operations, UHN Research, and Innovation Cores. Jose will be providing leadership and oversight in the delivery of services provided by the UHN Research and Innovation core facilities to the UHN research community.
